The wrestling world lost a legend last month as Hulk Hogan passed away. The cause of death was listed as cardiac arrest and now it appears that his widow could be filing a medical malpractice lawsuit.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Hulk Hogan’s widow, Sky Daily, is considering a medical malpractice lawsuit following the death of the former WWE Champion. It was noted that the main focus of any possible legal action would be the neck surgery that Hogan underwent months before he died, which Sky believes could have contributed to his death.
Sky claims that Hogan’s phrenic nerve was compromised during the surgery which caused him to be short of breath in the months leading up to his passing.
“We are investigating for possible malpractice. If you have shortness of breath for a long time, that makes you very sick. It’s not something that’s an alarming (sudden) cause of death. It’s something that wears on you, makes you weak,” Sky said.
When The Daily Mail asked if the issues could have contributed to Hogan’s death, Sky said, “Definitely.”
Sky also confirmed that Hulk Hogan’s body has been embalmed at a funeral home in Clearwater, Florida, but it will be cremated once the medical investigation is over.
“It’s not like in the movies where you snap your fingertips. It’s very time-consuming to call, sending in records requests, get approvals, send in the death certificate to get information. We’re currently in the investigatory process for possible malpractice,” Sky added.
It was noted that talk of the allegations first started when Hulk Hogan stopped breathing and an occupational therapist at the mansion told police that the nerve had been “severed” during the operation. Daily Mail did try to make contact with the therapist who declined to comment on the situation. Sky Daily clarified that the therapist has spoken with police and he obtained the information from medical records.
While talking about how the police handled the investigation Sky said, “I know the truth will come out, so I’m sitting back here politely being, like, everything’s being well documented. I know it’s fine. But I’m trying to be respectful of the police department because the police department has been very respectful and very thorough. I have cameras in the house. They’ve looked at all the cameras. They’ve counted all the medicines. They’ve done everything that they would normally do. They’ve seen very clear medical records, where it’s just completely obvious how things go. They’ve been very thorough.”
