You never know what’s going to happen when you watch WWE programming and fans found that out first hand when Brock Lesnar returned to the company at SummerSlam. After John Cena dropped the WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes during the night 2 main event, Brock Lesnar made his way down to the ring and he hit Cena with the F5 as the show went off the air.
Brock Lesnar last appeared on WWE programming when he was defeated by Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam in 2023. It was rumored that he was supposed to face Gunther at WrestleMania 40, but The Beast Incarnate was dropped from creative plans after he was named in the Janel Grant lawsuit.
In a recent Fightful Select Q&A it was noted that Brock Lesnar’s WWE return was met with very mixed emotions backstage. It’s being said that not everyone is sweeping it under the rug, but the belief is that people won’t be actively walking out of the company.
As of this writing WWE has not announced Brock Lesnar’s next scheduled appearance, but judging from the way things played out at SummerSlam the company appears to be building toward a John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar match in the future.
