Seth Rollins has been sitting on the sidelines ever since his match with LA Knight at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event as Seth seemingly suffered a knee injury during the bout. In recent weeks there’s been a lot of speculation regarding the legitimacy of Seth’s injury, and whether or not he could be getting ready to cash in his Money in the Bank contract.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter it was noted that the original plan was for Seth Rollins to cash in his Money in the Bank contract after the CM Punk vs. Gunther match at SummerSlam.

At this point it’s unknown if that is still the direction WWE will be going with the Money in the Bank contract. The report referred to Seth Rollins’ injury at Saturday Night’s Main Event as an angle, and it was noted that Seth cashing in at SummerSlam was still the plan a week after SNME. However, the belief is that WWE might nix the plan as the company likes surprises and some fans are aware of a rumored Seth cash in.

CM Punk is set to challenge Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam and the match is expected to headline night 1. One way or another it will be interesting to see who walks out with the gold once the dust settles.
