Roman Reigns last stepped into the ring at WrestleMania 41 when he faced off against CM Punk and Seth Rollins in the night one main event. Ultimately it was Rollins who picked up the victory after Paul Heyman turned on Roman Reigns and CM Punk. Roman Reigns was then taken out by Bron Breakker during the Raw after WrestleMania and The Tribal Chief spent several months sitting on the sidelines.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that originally Roman Reigns vs. Bron Breakker and Jey Uso vs. Bronson Reed were set for the SummerSlam card, but now Reigns and Uso will be taking on Breakker and Reed in a tag team match.

There’s speculation that Bronson Reed could end up taking the fall as WWE doesn’t want Roman Reigns or Bron Breakker to lose right now. However, it’s not confirmed that will be the finish.

It was also noted that moving forward the key seems to be to set up two big matches for Roman Reigns, one against Bron Breakker, and one against Seth Rollins.

As of right now it’s not clear when Reigns could potentially face off against Seth Rollins as The Visionary is currently sidelined due to injury. Little is known about when Seth Rollins could return, but he claimed last week on the Rich Eisen Show that he will be out of action for “an extended period of time.”

Stay tuned for updates.
