SummerSlam is quickly approaching and the card for the big event has been coming together in recent weeks. The 2025 edition of the show will be the first ever two night SummerSlam, and it looks like WWE has two huge main events lined up for each night.
Dave Meltzer shared an update on WWE’s plan for the SummerSlam card on Wrestling Observer Radio and it was noted that John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship is set to main event night two, while CM Punk vs. Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will main event night one.
It’s also being reported that originally WWE planned to add Roman Reigns vs. Bron Breakker and Jey Uso vs. Bronson Reed to SummerSlam. Meltzer speculated that Roman Reigns & Jey Uso could team up to face Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed in a tag team match instead.
WWE SummerSlam will air live from MetLife Stadium on Saturday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 3rd and the current card can be seen below.
