For quite some time Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley had was seemed to be inseparable. The duo were consistently featured on WWE programming, but last year at SummerSlam, Dominik turned on Rhea when he helped Liv Morgan pick up a win over The Eradicator.
Since then Dominik Mysterio has been paired up with Liv Morgan, and they were involved in a heated feud with Rhea Ripley in the months that followed SummerSlam. The feud seemingly came to an end last month when Rhea Ripley defeated Liv Morgan to win the WWE Women’s World Championship during the Raw premiere on Netflix.
After Rhea picked up the win Dominik got in the ring and tried to hug the new champion. Rhea Ripley responded by declining the hug and hitting Dominik with a low blow.
Dominik Mysterio hasn’t said much about the attempted hug, but during a recent appearance on Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge, Dominik claimed that it was part of a plan that he and Liv Morgna had that didn’t work out.
“I’m not even going to say her name, because she’s like Voldemort, but I can say his name, ’cause we’re cool. But, to me, like I said, I’ve said this before. It was a plan Liv and I had that for whatever reason, something went south, which it did, I would go in for a hug, try and steal the title and convince her I was back on her side. Just to steal the title. Just to steal the title and take it back to Liv and we would figure out once we had the title.”
