Over the years fans have seen a number of celebrities cross over into wrestling. Bad Bunny made his big debut with WWE when he teamed up with Damian Priest to defeat John Morrison and The Miz at WrestleMania 37. He then went on to compete in the Royal Rumble in 2022, and Bad Bunny picked up a win over Damian Priest at Backlash in 2023.
The 2023 edition of the Backlash premium live event was a huge show as it took place from Puerto Rico. Recently Bad Bunny reflected on the event during an interview with Rolling Stone while claiming that Backlash will emanate from Mexico at some point in the future.
“What can I tell you? It was nice. We were there until we could bring WWE to Puerto Rico. And man, I actually feel like it was good for them and for everyone, because I saw that last year Backlash was in France, now it’s going to Mexico. They saw that it worked.”
Bad Bunny has not stepped into a WWE ring since his match with Damian Priest in 2023, but he indicated that he is looking to compete in at least one more match.
“I want to do it one more time. I want to put my life at risk in the ring. I felt like I didn’t risk it enough in the ring, and I want to do it. I want to scare my mother. When? I don’t know. We stay in contact with the people at WWE, we’re always paying attention to what’s going on. But when, I don’t know. I hope there’s a time where I can really get ready, like I did the last few times. And I’d love to take more time to get ready physically.”
