Back in October, AJ Styles faced off against Carmelo Hayes on SmackDown, and unfortunately The Phenomenal One suffered an injury during the match. Styles was seen limping to the back and the former WWE Champion later went on to confirm that he had suffered a Lisfranc injury
The Phenomenal One has been out of action for months now, and it doesn’t sound like he’s getting any closer to making a return in the near future.
Recently a fan on social media asked AJ Styles how he’s healing, and Styles indicated that he’s still dealing with complications due to the injury when he posted a response which said, “I’ll be honest, this injury is challenging.”

After AJ Styles suffered the injury it was reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that he was set to start a storyline where he teased retirement. There’s currently no word on when he’ll be back in action, or if WWE has plans to pick the storyline up once again when he returns.
