NXT has firmly established itself as WWE’s third brand and the stars of NXT stepped into the spotlight on Tuesday night at New Year’s Evil. The show kicked off with a big title match as Roxanne Perez defended the NXT Women’s Championship against Giulia.
The match was action packed from bell to bell, but when it was all said and done it was Giulia who picked up the win to become the new NXT Women’s Champion. With Giulia now in possession of the gold everyone is wondering what the future holds for Roxanne Perez.
It hasn’t been confirmed that Perez will be getting called up to the main roster, but it’s worth noting that Corey Brennan of Fightful is reporting that back in April when Roxanne won the NXT Women’s Championship the belief was she would be getting called up when he reign concluded.
“The belief when she won the belt back in April was that she’d be called up at her reigns conclusion.”
There’s currently no word on whether or not WWE officials have plans to call Roxanne Perez up in the near future, but it seems that the idea was at least discussed at one point in time.
