Big E has been out of action for over two years now after suffering a broken neck during a match on SmackDown. There’s been a lot of talk among fans about what the future holds for the former WWE Champion, but it seems that the future is still unclear.
Recently Big E addressed his status during an appearance on The Mike Broomhead Show, and he confirmed that he still has not been cleared to make an in-ring return.
“I broke my neck, two and a half years ago, in three places, including my C1 in two places. I still haven’t been cleared. Thankfully, I feel great and don’t have any issues, nothing like that. Didn’t need surgery. I was in a hard collar for three months. There are very real risks. We had a suplex that went wrong and I’ve been out since. I’m grateful to have no issues, no pain, nothing like that.”
A few weeks ago Big E made an appearance on Monday Night Raw when he offered to become The New Day’s manager. However, Kofi and Woods turned on their former friend as they accused him of choosing his new life over them. Big E has been working as a broadcaster on WWE kickoff shows in recent years, but it’s unclear if there are any plans for him to make more appearances on WWE programming in the future.
