Last month CM Punk helped The Original Bloodline defeat The New Bloodline at Survivor Series, and following the big win The Second City Saint made it clear that he’s focused on WrestleMania.

WrestleVotes reported during a recent episode of Backstage Pass Q&A that WWE wants CM Punk in a World Title match at WrestleMania 41. It’s not exactly clear how things will play out, but the belief is that Punk won’t be working with Cody Rhodes. There’s speculation that CM Punk will be involved with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship picture.

“I’ve heard so many things on Punk, especially as of late with the Roman stuff being thrown in there. But the one main factor that I’ve heard almost all year is they want him to be involved in a world title match. I don’t know how the puzzle pieces are going to fit but they want him at the top. I don’t think it’ll be with Cody, so that’s one title match out the window. Does he fit into the other one? I’m going to say yes at this point. I don’t think it’ll be Gunther, Bill [Apter], that’s the thing.”

It seems that CM Punk is set for a big spot on the WrestleMania card next year, but first he will have to deal with Seth Rollins who is clearly trying to stand in his way. Earlier this week it was confirmed that CM Punk will face Seth Rollins when Raw premieres on Netflix on January 6.
