WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event gave fans plenty to talk about as the show featured some big moments. Cody Rhodes successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens in the main event, but it was what happened after that really got people talking.

Following the Saturday Night’s Main Event broadcast on NBC, Kevin Owens hit Cody Rhodes with a package piledriver and stole the Winged Eagle belt. Rhodes had to be stretchered out of the arena and WWE has now shared what is presumably a storyline update on The American Nightmare’s status.

WWE claimed that Cody Rhodes has been diagnosed with axial compression of the cervical spine, and a cervical strain with spasm when the company posted the following announcement:

“Earlier today it was confirmed that @CodyRhodes suffered cervical swelling and was kept overnight at a local hospital for observation. While X-Rays were negative for a fracture, Rhodes has been officially diagnosed with axial compression of the cervical spine, as well as a cervical strain with spasm.”

After Kevin Owens stole the Winged Eagle belt and started making his way to the back he was confronted by Triple H who shoved him three times. The Prizefighter had plenty to say on social media following the big title match that took place at Saturday Night’s Main Event, and you can get more on that here.
