Trish Stratus may no longer be a regular on WWE programming, but the former WWE Women’s Champion has been known to make a return to the ring from time to time. Over the last few years Trish has faced off against Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and also clashed with the members of Damage CTRL at WrestleMania 39.
There’s no telling who the Hall of Famer could face next, but Mercedes Mone vs. Trish Stratus seems to be a dream match for some fans. While speaking with Rick Ucchino on The Takedown, Trish Stratus explained why the match hasn’t happened yet.
“I think it didn’t come because I really think people never thought I’d ever come back for another match. Like after the Royal Rumble, it was enough. It was a little sizzle real, so to speak, of Trish Stratus and Stratusfaction, which is like not easy to pull off but like ‘Alright, you still got it,’ whatever. But to think of like can she come back after how many years and do a match, 17 years after my retirement or whatever the crazy number is, which is wild, but then [Moné] left [WWE].”
When asked if she could potentially face Mercedes Mone outside of WWE, Stratus said, “I really am WWE girl all the way, I am, but you never know. Who knows? There’s so much more life to be had.”
