Business has certainly picked up for the WWE women’s division in recent weeks as two new title belts were introduced. The WWE Women’s United States Championship was added to the SmackDown brand, and the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship has been added to the Raw brand. Tournaments are currently being held to crown the inaugural champions.
First round matches for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship tournament kicked off earlier this month and Dakota Kai and Lyra Valkyria have already advanced to the semi-finals.
Natalya is set to face off against Kairi Sane and Alba Fyre in a first round match, and WrestleVotes recently reported on Backstage Pass Q&A that there are people in WWE pushing for Natalya to win the belt.
“We spoke last week on this show about how I’d like it to be Natalya. I did hear some feedback with some sentiments that were similar from sources that said they would like it to be Natalya as well.
“Now, that doesn’t mean it’s going to be her but there is some favouritism maybe that would like to see her win the Intercontinental Championship.”
