vince mcmahon

For decades Vince McMahon’s name was synonymous with WWE. Even though he’s no longer with the company he spent a great deal of time deciding the creative direction for WWE, and back in 2017 he brought back the Punjabi Prison match for the main event at Battleground.

Jinder Mahal successfully defended his WWE Championship against Randy Orton during the show, but he recently explained during an appearance on Maven Huffman’s YouTube channel that Vince McMahon was nowhere to be found after the match.

“Basically, we’re all just wrestling for Vince. When me and Randy [and] Great Khali came back, the ‘audience of one’ wasn’t there. He left. That was a little bit disrespectful. Even Randy was like, ‘Was he upset?’ And Michael [Hayes] was like, ‘No. He just left.’”

Mahal also recalled how his relationship with Vince McMahon changed over the years when he added, “Earlier in my career, I always avoided Vince. I was always afraid of him. [But] during this time, I got to work with him closely.”

Jinder Mahal is no longer with WWE as he was released from the company back in April. He is still actively wrestling and has been using the name Raj Dhesi on the independent scene.
