Currently there are a number of wrestlers who are absent from AEW programming including Danhausen who hasn’t appeared on AEW TV since last year. Fightful Select reports that sources at AEW have claimed Danhausen hasn’t been in regular contact with the company for well over six months. It was noted that Danhausen does have to get approval from AEW to work indie dates, but that is protocol for the talent under contract.

Originally Danhausen was set to return from injury about a year go. However, plans regarding his return were changed, which led to Danhausen expressing frustration to Tony Khan directly.

It’s being said that Bryan Danielson was a big proponent of Danhausen, and there were pitches to bring him back earlier this year. Nothing came of the plans, but according to the report Danhausen has been willing to return to All Elite Wrestling.

AEW was reportedly of the belief that Danhausen wanted to prioritize his indie dates over working AEW Collision on Saturdays. The story from the other side is that family related issues caused issues with Danhausen’s availability, but that has changed. Prior to that period AEW had seen Danhausen doing indie dates and the belief within the company was that he didn’t want to work Collision.

As of right now AEW has no creative plans for Danhausen. His current deal with the company is set to expire in the summer of 2025. Stay tuned for updates.
