Earlier this week Rhea Ripley was written off TV during an episode of NXT when she was found in the parking lot after Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez seemingly attacked her. WWE later announced that Ripley suffered a fractured orbital bone and that she is currently out of action for an undisclosed amount of time.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that original plans called for Rhea Ripley to face Raquel Rodriguez in a singles match at Crown Jewel. It hasn’t been confirmed, but there’s some speculation that WWE added the four way match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship as a replacement for Rhea vs. Raquel.
It was also noted that Rhea Ripley suffered the injury during the 10/21 Raw taping, and it was believed to have happened during a headbutt spot. WWE kept the injury quiet until the angle was done on the 10/29 episode of Raw.
