It was reported back in August that Nikki Garcia’s (Nikki Bella) husband Artem Chigvintsev had been arrested for domestic violence and Nikki later filed for divorce.
TMZ is now reporting that Nikki filed a restraining order against her husband Artem Chigvintsev on Monday which a judge signed off on. Nikki reportedly submitted a sworn declaration to the court detailing how Artem abused her.
In the petition Nikki said that Artem, “tackled me multiple times and pinned me to the ground while our child was present.” Nikki claimed that after Artem was cut from Dancing With The Stars he became “increasingly angry, snapping at me, and yelling.”
According to the report Nikki became overwhelmed by Artem yelling at her on the morning of the incident and threw her son’s toddler sized shoes at him, which hit his leg. Artem then grabbed their son and went upstairs. When Nikki tried to get in the room Artem allegedly tackled her to the ground then pushed her across the hall after she attempted to get in the room again. Nikki claims that Artem’s hands were pushing down on her chest and she felt like she was suffocating.
Nikki’s reps issued the following statement to TMZ:
“Due to the incident that led to Artem’s arrest on August 29, 2024, Nikki has decided to file for a temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order to protect herself and her son. Although Nikki requested that the Napa District Attorney not file charges against Artem as she did not want him to go to jail, he must still be held accountable for his actions, and Nikki and her son must be protected. Nikki’s number one priority has always been the wellbeing of her son. She is thankful for all of the love and support she has received and continues to ask for privacy for her and her family during this difficult time.”
