Cody Rhodes has come a long way over the last decade or so and he took his career to new heights this year when he defeated Roman Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania. Rhodes has feuded with some interesting names throughout his time as an active wrestler and back in 2015 he started a program with “Arrow” star Stephen Amell.

Stephen Amell and Neville picked up a win over Wade Barrett and Stardust at SummerSlam in 2015, but originally Amell’s feud with Stardust was set to continue beyond SummerSlam.

Recently Stephen Amell talked to Chris Van Vliet about feuding with Cody Rhodes during his run as Stardust, and he revealed that they were supposed to face off in a cage match at another pay-per-view before plans got nixed.

“So, the plan was, as best as I can recall, there was a pay-per-view after SummerSlam [2015], and then the October pay-per-view was going to be in LA. And Cody [Rhodes] and I were supposed to have a Cage match. We were getting ready to send a ring up to Vancouver for me to do a bunch more training because I basically faked my way through the SummerSlam match.”

“So, the plan was actually to go more the length as I went with Christopher Daniels [All In 2018], and again the plan was to lose clean. All of a sudden, Cody [Rhodes] calls me up, and he goes, ‘Look man, I don’t know what’s going on, but our match just got shelved, and no one will give me an explanation why, and I’m devastated and I’m deeply embarrassed.”
