Former WWE Diva Angela Fong will be working for the AAA Lucha Underground promotion, apparently using her real name. Top indie star Brian Cage is also in talks to be added to the roster.
The promoters have responded to criticism that the first sets of tapings weren’t “Lucha enough” by bringing in more wrestlers from Mexico and doing more all-Lucha matches. However, head agent Chavo Guerrero has been pushing for the wrestlers to slow down. There have been complaints that they are trying to push talents into a WWE style and away from the Lucha Libre style.
There has been talk of using “original Sin Cara” Luis Urive and it’s expected that Alberto Del Rio will be used soon as well.
A Lucha Underground Championship will likely be introduced towards the end of this year.
