For months now the wrestling world has been talking about Mercedes Mone’s next move and it’s been heavily rumored that the former WWE star would be making her debut at AEW Big Business at the TD Garden in Boston on Wednesday.
Mercedes kicked off the show and the fans greeted her with “CEO” chants as she made her way to the ring. As soon as Mercedes grabbed the mic she told the fans she’s home and they responded with “welcome home” chants. She thanked the fans for having her back over the last few years and sticking with her through the highs and lows.
The former SmackDown Women’s Champion said that wrestling has changed her life. She said her dreams helped her become the first ever woman to main event a pay-per-view at the TD Garden. Mercedes said if she can do it, then the fans can do it too.
Mercedes Mone then said that she’s in AEW because she needs to be there, and she wants to be there. She said AEW is the only place where the revolution can go global. She addressed the main event match which was Riho and Willow Nightingale then said she has a lot of unfinished business with Willow, but at Big Business, Mercedes is All Elite. The fans responded with more “CEO” chants. Mercedes thanked Tony Khan and the AEW fans.
Mone then made her exit as the fans continued to chant “CEO” while she walked up the ramp.
