Last year Cody Rhodes won the 30 man Royal Rumble match and he punched his ticket for the WrestleMania main event. The American Nightmare went on to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the Grandest Stage of Them All, but Roman retained.
With WrestleMania season set to kick off soon many people in the wrestling world are wondering if Cody could get another chance to take down The Tribal Chief this year. However, The Rock recently inserted himself into the mix when he returned to Raw to tease a potential match with Roman Reigns.
Dustin Rhodes recently spoke to Sports Illustrated about the WrestleMania main event, and he made it clear that he thinks it’s Cody’s time right now.
“I hope Cody’s in the main event spot against Roman. Or it’s going to be The Rock. If it is The Rock, I’m p***ed–this is Cody’s time. He is becoming the face of the company, and it’s paying off. But I get it. If it is The Rock, it’s still good business. I understand that there are a lot of people who love seeing The Rock. But I still think it’s Cody’s moment.”
