Tonight’s episode of SmackDown is the blue brand’s first show in 2024 and it’s shaping up to be a big one. Several big segments have been confirmed for SmackDown tonight and it sounds like a return is in the plans as well.
Earlier today PWInsider reported that Paul Ellering was spotted in Vancouver leading to speculation that the Authors of Pain could be returning tonight. Fightful Select is now reporting that current plans call for Akam, Rezar and Paul Ellering to appear on SmackDown tonight. It was also noted that they will be part of the blue brand moving forward.
Gable Steveson is also reportedly in town, but there’s no word on whether or not he’ll be used tonight. WWE is currently focused on the following points for WWE SmackDown tonight:

– AJ Styles, Randy Orton and LA Knight to collide in Triple Threat Match on New Year’s’ Revolution
– Kevin Owens battles Santos Escobar in the United States Championship Tournament Final
– Logan Paul comes to SmackDown at New Year’s Revolution
– Michin to challenge IYO SKY in a WWE Women’s Title Match
– Butch must find a partner to take on Pretty Deadly
