The year is almost over and the stars of WWE will be looking to kick off 2024 in a big way with Day 1 Raw on Monday. It’s shaping up to be a big show as Seth Rollins is set to defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre, and it looks like we could see a return during the show.
Fightful Select is reporting that WWE sources are claiming the company is “on the one yard line” when it comes to nailing down a former WWE Champion for Day 1 Raw. It’s being said that the company feels confident they can get the deal done.
A specific name was not revealed, but it is not someone who is currently on the active roster. It was also noted that the wrestler was referred to as a “former WWE Champion” by WWE sources. It has not been revealed whether or not the former champion is an active or retired wrestler.
Triple H also teased the appearance of a former WWE Champion when he posted the following:
