You never know what might happen when you watch a WWE premium live event, and Fastlane was full of interesting moments on Saturday night. Heading into the show it was revealed that Rey Mysterio & the LWO would be facing Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits, but it was revealed that Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro were not cleared to compete.
With Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro both sidelined Rey Mysterio & Santos Escobar were in need of a partner for Fastlane. Luckily for Rey & Santos they got some major backup when Carlito made his return at Fastlane. Carlito teamed with Rey & Santos and together they managed to pick up a win over Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits.
At one point Rey Mysterio was crawling toward his corner for a tag, but no one was there. That’s when Carlito’s music hit and he came down to the ring for the hot tag. Carlito then ended up hitting the Backstabber on Montez Ford for the win.
Carlito made his surprise return to WWE back in May when appeared at the Backlash premium main event and sided with LWO as they battled The Judgment Day during Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest. It had been reported over the summer that Carlito had signed a new deal with WWE. Judging from how things played out at Fastlane it looks like the company was waiting for the right moment to bring him back.
IT'S CARLITO!!!
