Over the years fans have seen a lot of WWE stars come and go and some of them had some interesting gimmicks to say the least. For years The Boogeyman was a mainstay on WWE programming, but at one point John Laurinaitis decided it was time for WWE and The Boogeyman to part ways.
However, it doesn’t sound like that decision was approved by Vince McMahon as Rene Dupree explained on the Cafe De Rene podcast that Vince not only re-hired The Boogeyman hours after he was fired, but he also gave him a raise.
“Did you ever hear the story about Boogeyman, when he got hired? He got fired in the morning at 9 A.M. and then rehired at 3 O’clock in the afternoon the same day. You remember Johnny Ace? So, Johnny didn’t like [The Boogeyman] and then, I guess he thought he had enough power to be able to fire someone like [The Boogeyman]. And then when Vince found out that [The Boogeyman] was fired, he made Johnny Ace call him up and rehire him. I think with a raise, actually.”
The Boogyeman hasn’t been a regular on the WWE roster for some time, but he does still make sporadic appearances on occasion. He last appeared on WWE programming during the special Raw Legends Night episode of Raw back in January of 2021.
