Last month fans saw Carlito make his grand return to WWE at the Backlash premium live event when he interfered in the Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest match. Since then fans have been wondering if Carlito might make his return to WWE, and now it seems that it could be happening.
It was recently reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Carlito pulled out of an independent event in Canada in July and that he told the promoter he had signed a new contract with WWE.
SE Scoops reached out to Great North Wrestling to follow up on rumors of Carlito’s WWE return, and the following statement was issued by Anthony Ambrose:
“Carlito informed Great North Wrestling EVP Jack Kilby on June 14th that he pulled out of our July 15th event in Smiths Falls Ontario that he had previously agreed to because he had re-signed with WWE and it would be a violation of his contract. He returned his deposit and we are currently in talks with several other ex WWE stars to replace him at the event.”
At this point there’s no word on when Carlito could be returning to WWE programming, but all signs point to a return for the former Intercontinental Champion. Stay tuned for updates.
