Goldberg’s WWE contract has expired and he’s currently one of the biggest free agents in the world of professional wrestling. Even though WWE seems to be done with Goldberg he’s not done with professional wrestling as the Hall of Famer has made it clear that he’s looking to compete in a retirement match.
As of right now no official plans have been announced for a potential retirement match for Goldberg, but he did mention that it could possibly take place in Israel.
Rick Bassman recently spoke to Haus of Wrestling and he confirmed that he is working on plans for a potential retirement match for Goldberg in Israel. It was noted that although nothing has been confirmed yet the match could take place in September, and Bassman is hoping to get Sting involved in the event.
“First of all, I’m actively in touch with Bill, I’m working on a date right now. I don’t promote much these days but every now and then, something fun comes up, and it’s worth diving into. So working on a date in Jerusalem, Israel for September of this year. And that would involve, potentially, both Goldberg and Sting. And then on the whole ladder, you have the AEW clearance issues, of course. So that’s something that I really hope to put together.
“Now, only because I’ve been in touch actively with Bill, and then also with his agent, Barry Bloom, who is a longtime good friend. They are working on exactly what you described. But to my knowledge, it still needs to all be nailed down. That said, I would not be surprised to see Bill end up back in WWE for something massive.”
Stay tuned for more updates on Goldberg’s retirement match as they become available.
