This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw is set to take place from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL and a surprising name was backstage at the event. PWInsider is reporting that CM Punk was at the venue for a little bit ahead of Raw.
There’s currently no word on who CM Punk was visiting, but several WWE sources have said that CM Punk did briefly see Triple H. It’s being said that this is the first time CM Punk and Triple H have met face to face since Punk walked out of WWE back in 2014 nearly a decade ago.
CM Punk also met with several other WWE talents, but was reportedly asked to exit the arena. One source stated that he may have been asked to leave because he’s currently under contract with AEW.
The same source noted that it was Vince McMahon’s call to have CM Punk leave the venue, and it was noted that when he was asked he immediately said his goodbyes and left the building.
The Allstate Arena is the same building where CM Punk famously defeated John Cena to win the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank in 2011. Punk has obviously been a hot topic in wrestling since the AEW All Out pay-per-view last year, and it was recently reported that he’s expected to make his return to AEW likely in June. Stay tuned for updates.
