For decades Vince McMahon was running WWE which meant that he could either make or break the careers of Superstars trying to get to the top of the company. When Shinsuke Nakamura first arrived on the main roster it seemed that he had momentum on his side as he won the Royal Rumble, but failed to win the WWE Championship when he challenged AJ Styles at WrestleMania 34.

Road Dogg previously said on his Oh You Didn’t Know? podcast that the Styles vs. Nakamura match was something that was booked for the fans, and he indicated on a recent episode that Vince McMahon didn’t see Shinsuke Nakamura as a top guy.

“Look I think he [Vince McMahon] gave Nakamura opportunity after opportunity. I think Vince sees that you don’t have to see Nakamura perform too many times before you see what everybody else sees.”

“I don’t think he [Vince] was blind to that or denied him of that, and I think he gave him a bunch of opportunities. Now look I think the argument can be made that, ‘Can he, could he be a top guy?’ I think now, what are we, five years ahead of that? And look, the world’s changed. I think he could totally be the champion.”

Shinsuke Nakamura was off TV for several months, but returned to SmackDown last Friday. He defeated Madcap Moss and now it seems that he’s set for a feud with Karrion Kross. Stay tuned for updates.
