For months now we’ve been on the road to WrestleMania 39 and anticipation for the event was at an all time high heading into the show. There were several big moments from throughout the two night event including Rhea Ripley defeating Charlotte Flair to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship during night 1.
Now it seems that Charlotte will be taking a break from WWE as PWInsider is reporting that the former SmackDown Women’s Champion is set to take some time off following WrestleMania 39. The Queen reportedly informed the company over the weekend that she would be taking a break.
It was also noted that creative plans for Rhea Ripley to win the SmackDown Women’s Title at WrestleMania 39 were in place before Charlotte Flair told the company that she was planning to take a break. Flair was reportedly telling people backstage that she and her husband Andrade were going to travel.
Charlotte Flair spent a decent amount of time on the sidelines in 2022 as she was out of action from May through December. At this point in time it’s not clear how long Charlotte will be off TV, but it’s being said that this was her decision and not a creative move. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
