This week on AEW Dynamite the current ROH World Champion Chris Jericho issued an open challenge to anyone who has held gold in ROH, and former ROH Tag Team Champion Colt Cabana answered the call. Cabana made his way out to face Jericho, but it was Jericho who picked up the win on Wednesday night.
PWInsider reports that Colt Cabana’s appearance on Dynamite this week was thought of as a one off as he remains on the ROH roster. It was noted that Cabana’s appearance wasn’t about Colt Cabana returning to AEW, but it was more about Chris Jericho beating another name from Ring of Honor.
With AEW’s ongoing situation with CM Punk some fans online speculated that Colt Cabana’s return may have had something to do with AEW’s stance on Punk, but it was noted that even it was meant to be a shot at Punk no one would ever admit that.
