Following AEW All Out, CM Punk and Ace Steel were involved in a physical altercation with The Elite and several stars were suspended. Ace Steel allegedly bit Kenny Omega during the brawl, and it was recently reported that Ace Steel has been let go.
Fightful Select reports that the word coming out of the TV tapings in Cincinnati is that Ace Steel is no longer with the company. It’s also being said that much of the roster has remained quiet on the backstage altercation at All Out. This became more the case after Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Chris Jericho led a talent meeting encouraging talent to keep their dirty laundry in house. However, more talent were willing to talk after Ace Steel was released.
The unanimous consensus is that Ace Steel’s release was expected. Almost everyone figured that Ace Steel was done by the TV tapings that followed All Out. A longtime talent who had been on good terms with Ace Steel noted that the writing was on the wall when the bite marks on Kenny Omega were still visible.
A veteran commented on the situation and said that releasing Ace Steel was a no brainer as bringing him back into the locker room with or without CM Punk would have caused a lot of frustration. One talent commented on the situation and simply said, “Biting people bad.”
During this week’s episode of Dynamite, The Elite were referenced and CM Punk was featured in a ROH video package. The parties involved are said to be more in contact with AEW now than they were before, but context for that was not provided.
