There are a number of talented wrestlers on the AEW roster right now, but not all of them can get along. Recently it’s been teased that The Acclaimed and The Gunn Club could be splitting up, and the split finally happened this week.
The two teams made their entrance together as they prepared to face Fuego Del Sol and Ruffin’ It in an 8 man tag team match. Tension was teased early on as Max Caster started to rap during the entrance, but Austin Gunn took the mic from him.
The end of the match came when Max Caster went to the top rope to hit an elbow drop as Austin Gunn tagged his leg. Caster hit an elbow drop off the top rope on Bear Bronson, but he couldn’t score the pin because he wasn’t the legal man. Austin then pinned Bronson to pick up the win. Austin and Colten Gunn celebrated as The Acclaimed got in their face.
The Gunn Club then attacked The Acclaimed as Billy Gunn got in the ring and pulled them off. Billy Gunn shouted at his sons, and it seemed that he was siding with them, but Gunn turned on The Acclaimed and took out Caster. Anthony Bowens reached out for the scissor hand gesture, which was denied by Billy Gunn as he hit Bowens with the Famouser.
