WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff knows a thing or two about building up an audience for a wrestling company, and he can be heard sharing his thoughts on his wrestling journey on his 83 Weeks podcast. Recently Eric Bischoff shared a clip from the podcast where he talks about AEW’s booking.
Bischoff noted that he thinks AEW needs better storytelling to grow the company while saying that out of 1,000 fans only 100 of them will be hardcore wrestling fans while the other 900 will be casual fans. Eric Bischoff continued to push the idea that if the intent of creative is to appeal to the hardcore fans then the casual fans won’t get invested.
CM Punk has previously said that he doesn’t think casual wrestling fans exist anymore, and he responded to the clip by saying that wrestling Twitter needs to stop amplifying “carny dips***s” when he posted the following:
“Wrestling twitter needs to stop amplifying all the old head bad faith bad take carny dips***s. They had their moment in the sun. Let them die in the dark with their ego podcasts. Quote me.”
