Fans are gearing up for a big weekend as WrestleMania 38 is only a few days away, and you never know who might turn up at WWE’s Show of Shows.
PWInsider reports that Shane McMahon is currently slated to be at WrestleMania 38 this weekend. There’s currently no word on whether or not Shane McMahon will be appearing on camera at WrestleMania, but he will be in town for the event.
Shane McMahon last appeared on WWE programming when he competed in the 30 man Royal Rumble match back in January. It was reported that there was talk of Shane facing Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, but following the Royal Rumble he was quietly removed from creative plans.
According to the report there were plans for Shane McMahon to be a heel on Raw, and he was pushing to work with Austin Theory at WrestleMania due to Theory’s involvement with his father Vince McMahon. However, plans for Shane and Theory were never 100% locked in place, and there were other people pushing for Shane vs. Rollins.
Shane McMahon worked as a producer for the 30 man Royal Rumble match, but was said to have been frustrated the day of the event with some WWE sources believing Vince McMahon shot his ideas down. The talk was that Shane was upset because “he wasn’t being allowed to do what he wanted” and he was said to be “greatly preoccupied” with his role in the Royal Rumble match.
There was reportedly “a ton of heat” on Shane following the match, but it’s not clear if that heat has dissipated or if WWE has plans for him to return to TV.
