We’re deep into WrestleMania season, but unfortunately one of WWE’s top stars won’t be competing on the Grandest Stage of Them All this year. Friday night on SmackDown, Big E teamed up with Kofi Kingston to take on Ridge Holland and Sheamus, and Big E suffered a broken neck after he was dropped on his head when Ridge Holland hit him with an overhead belly to belly suplex outside the ring.
so um.. big E rushed to the hosp on a stretcher. possible neck and back cracker. this is what happened…made his body stiffen up and all and its scary. :/ #SmackDown pic.twitter.com/PDJw9d6eOM

Pete Dunne also made his debut on SmackDown and it was revealed that he will be using the name Butch moving forward. PWInsider reports that plans called for all three members of The New Day to face off against Sheamus, Ridge Holland and Butch in a six man tag team match at WrestleMania 38. Obviously that won’t be happening now that Big E is injured.
Stay tuned for more updates on WrestleMania 38 and Big E’s status as they become available.
