Road Dogg has been one of the key figures behind the scenes in NXT for some time now, but this week the former WWE Tag Team Champion’s run with the company came to an end when he was released.
WWE has been making major changes to the NXT brand ever since it was relaunched as NXT 2.0, and other names such as William Regal, Samoa Joe, Danny Burch and Timothy Thatcher were also released.
Now that Road Dogg is no longer with WWE fans are wondering what he could do next, and when he was asked about possibly reuniting with Billy Gunn to work behind the scenes in AEW he had the following response: “This light bill ain’t gonna pay itself!”
This light bill ain’t gonna pay itself!

Road Dogg also went on to thank all of the individuals from NXT, and he also noted that he has lost his verified status on Twitter.
I just want to thank all the individuals from @WWENXT especially the young talent. The relationships we’ve built will last forever! #THANKYOU

Adam Cole parted ways with WWE last year and shortly after his contract expired he made his AEW debut. The former NXT Champion thanked Road Dogg while indicating that he hopes they cross paths again.
Thanks for everything Brian 🙏 you’re the man…see you down the road.
