Over the last few months fans have seen some big names get released from WWE, and many people were shocked when the company parted ways with former NXT Champion Aleister Black.
Rumors of Aleister Black making the jump to AEW started making the rounds as soon as he was released, and he made his surprise debut on the Road Rager edition of AEW Dynamite this week. Aleister Black was released on June 2nd, and most former WWE stars have a 90 day non compete clause, which has left many fans to wonder how Black was able to appear on AEW Dynamite.
PWInsider reports that when Black was called up to the WWE main roster a few years ago the company failed to update his non-compete clause from the 30 day non-compete NXT talents receive to the 90 day non-compete that is given to main roster talents. It seems that WWE made a clerical error.
There’s currently no word on whether or not other talents are available right now due to the same error. Stay tuned for updates.
