On Sunday night the WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view aired on Peacock and WWE Network, and The Miz faced off against Damian Priest in a Zombie Lumberjack Match. It was Damian Priest who ended up getting the win, and unfortunately for The Miz he ended up suffering a torn ACL during the match.
Fightful Select reports that WWE talents were surprised because they suspected that something was wrong, but didn’t think it was something as severe as a torn ACL.
It was also noted that The Miz received a lot of credit from his fellow WWE Superstars for being able to finish the match while he was working through an injury.
WWE had yet to issue any sort of statement regarding Miz’s injury. It was recently reported that the severity of the ACL tear is unknown, but if Miz is dealing with a full tear he could be out for up to 9 months.
