On Sunday night the WWE Fastlane pay-per-view aired live, but the pay-per-view wasn’t the only thing that wrestling fans were talking about, as former United States Champion Andrade was also released from his WWE contract.

F4Wonline.com reports that sources close to the situation have confirmed that Andrade has no non compete clause following his WWE release. The belief is that since he does not have the standard 90 day non compete clause that he is able to start taking dates immediately.

Andrade requested his release at Monday Night Raw last week, and he was officially released from his contract on Sunday night. Originally his release request was turned down, but company officials gave him word of his release on Sunday.

WWE posted the following announcement after he was released:

“WWE has come to terms on the release of Andrade. We wish him all the best in all of his future endeavors.”

Andrade filed a trademark to use the name La Sombra in the United States, which he previously used in CMLL.
