Everyone is talking about “Stone Cold” Steve Austin at the moment thanks to Austin 3:16 Day, and it’s clear that Austin has given fans many fond memories over the years.
It’s also safe to say that Steve Austin knows a thing or two about battling back from injuries, and it seems that he took a special interest in Daniel Bryan after Bryan underwent surgery on his neck.
While talking about Steve Austin on the WWE Network show Meeting Stone Cold, Daniel Bryan revealed that the Hall of Famer reached out to him after hearing about his neck surgery, and he offered him some advice.
“He just called me and he was interested in how my neck was because obviously he had neck issues, and he said, ‘You know, when you come back, you should try to work a different style.’ He said, ‘When I hurt my neck, I studied a bunch of Jerry Lawler and learned how to tell stories with just punches and kicks so it would take less toll on my body.’ He said, ‘You still work your a** off.’ And so that was really kind of him to call and say that to me.”
Daniel Bryan hasn’t certainly made the most of his in-ring return, and it seems that he has been putting his health first by toning down his style compared to how he wrestled prior to having neck surgery.
One way or another Daniel Bryan will get another shot at championship gold when he challenges Roman Reigns for the Universal Title at Fastlane on Sunday.
