Zelina Vega has been one of the most talked about wrestling stars of 2020, and the wrestling world was certainly talking about her on Friday after WWE announced that she had been released from her contract.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Vega failed to comply with WWE’s edict regarding a ban on third party platforms when she opened an OnlyFans account, which did not help her case with WWE officials.
Zelina Vega was reportedly adamant about keeping her Twitch channel. Meltzer noted she was making a lot of money on Twitch, and was one of “a couple of women who were making more money through social media than their WWE contracts.”
When it came time to choose between WWE and Twitch, she made her choice and the company fired her.
A few hours after her release was announced on Friday Zelina Vega returned to Twitch.
Vega confirmed that she’s not done with professional wrestling, but due to the 90 day non compete clause in her contract she will not be able to appear for another wrestling promotion before February of 2021.
