Zelina Vega has been one of WWE’s most talked about stars in 2020, so many people were surprised when it was announced on Friday that WWE had released the SmackDown superstar from her contract.
Fightful Select reports that many people in WWE were confused when the company released Vega, and others were said to be shocked. Someone also reportedly noted that if anyone was going to stand up to WWE’s third party edict it would be Zelina Vega.
People within AEW were also said to be shocked by Zelina Vega’s release with one person stating that they felt WWE “lost their minds” when they released Vega, and that they didn’t know what they had in her.
It was also noted that someone within IMPACT said they would campaign to get her to join the company.
As previously reported, Zelina Vega has a 90 day non compete clause in her contract, so she will not be able to appear for another wrestling promotion before February of 2021.
