On Sunday night Bray Wyatt defeated Braun Strowman to become the Universal Champion for the second time in his career, and Roman Reigns returned after the match to deliver a spear to Wyatt and Strowman.
Roman Reigns has been out of action since March due to concerns stemming from the coronavirus pandemic, and his return at SummerSlam came as a surprise to many.
AJ Styles commented on the return of Roman Reigns during a recent Twitch stream, and he also addressed the topic of whether or not Roman is a heel now.
“It was a surprise for me too, yeah. I was just as surprised as you guys were,” AJ admitted. “Is Roman a heel character? Because I don’t know, I don’t know what he is so I think we’re going to have to find out more. I mean, he’s spearing everybody but what does that mean? Is he ready to just kick some tail? That doesn’t sound like a heel to me, that sounds like a ‘bad a’.”
Heel or not Roman Reigns will be getting a shot at the Universal Title at Payback on Sunday when he faces Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman in a triple threat No Holds Barred match.
