The Backlash pay-per-view is set to air on the WWE Network next week, but it was recently reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the match has already been taped.
For weeks now WWE has been billing the match as “The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” according to Dave Meltzer he was told that the match was “really, really good.”
It’s being said that it was “two very smart workers working very hard to have the smartest match they possibly could under the circumstances.”
The match was taped ahead of time so that WWE will be able to edit it in order to help it live up to “The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” tagline.
It’s also being reported that the rest of the Backlash pay-per-view has not been filmed yet.
WWE Backlash will air on the WWE Network on Sunday, June 14.
