The Bella Twins recently returned to WWE programming when they appeared on Friday Night SmackDown, and they revealed that they will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.
The duo appeared on WWE Backstage this week and they noted that it was Vince McMahon who called to deliver the good news.
“It’s funny when Nikki and I got the called, Vince [McMahon] called us both,” Brie said. “We saw his missed call and my first reaction was, ‘Nikki, what did you say in the press?’ We thought we were in trouble, we called Vince back, together, and when he told us, we were shocked, ‘What? This year?'”
“When you’ve worked hard for so long and have fought for so many things and have the one man who you not only look up to so much, but also gave you incredible opportunity,” Nikki added. “To have him call and—Vince said the sweetest things.”
The WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony will live on the WWE Network on Thursday, April 2 from the Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL. In addition to The Bella Twins, Batista and the NWO have been confirmed for this year’s class.
