The songwriting team of John Paul Alicastro and Michael Conrad Lauri, better known as CFO$, have been working with WWE for years, but it looks like their working relationship with World Wrestling Entertainment has hit a major hurdle.
Fightful is reporting that CFO$ is no longer working with WWE due to an issue with their publisher.
One source noted that CFO$ was out a significant amount of money as it relates to their deal. It was also noted that CFO$ tried to get WWE to buy them out of their deal, and WWE seemed to be on board for that idea, but it was rejected by their publisher.
The plan was for WWE to bring them in house, but the talks hit a stand still and eventually ran out.
It’s being said that CF0$ have a non-compete with their publisher, which is why they have yet to return.
It’s also being said that the move was a big one considering WWE was willing to outsource the work instead of keeping it to themselves as the company had done for decades with Jim Johnston.
There have been no new uploads to WWE’s lucrative WWE Music Group Youtube channel in six months.
WWE has reportedly been using library tracks and an in-house editor. The company is said to be seeking new employees for that division and have been working with other groups and producers.
