7 Superstars Who Deserve A Legitimate WWE Or World Title Reign

I know I can’t be the only one who’s currently frustrated with WWE at the moment.
The company has more talent on the roster than they know what to do with and still they insist on pushing the same old guys.

Guys like John Cena, Randy Orton, The Big Show and Triple H have been dominating the main event scene for years now and it looks like they will continue to do so for years to come. Let’s be fair here I have nothing against the 4 superstars I just mentioned but does it really help the WWE to push the same people over and over?

Like I said earlier the WWE has a goldmine of talent on their roster and there are many superstars who could easily hang in the main event scene. The time to create new stars is now. Cena and Orton can’t wrestle forever and when the time comes that they decide to ride off into the sunset the WWE will be forced to build new stars. The best most would be to start building these people up now and we’ve listed 7 people below that would make great champions.

7. Wade Barrett

Where the hell has Wade Barrett been? You wouldn’t believe it by looking at his spot on the card now but at one point this guy was actually headlining pay per views and doing a great job working in the main event. When the Nexus debuted in 2010 they got such a monster push with Wade Barrett as their leader that many just assumed Barrett would get a WWE title reign at some point during the angle. To the surprise of no one WWE blew it and Wade has been floundering in the mid-card ever since.

We know Wade is capable of working in the main event and we know he looks believable when he’s there. You don’t have to change or develop anything about Wade at this point all WWE has to do is give him the ball and let him run with it.

6. Goldust

I know, I know you don’t even have to say anything I already know this is never going to happen. I don’t think Goldust has what it takes to be the face of the WWE but you can’t deny the fact that he’s been working on a whole new level since returning recently. Dustin Rhodes has mastered the Goldust character and his in ring work is currently outshining everyone on the roster. Goldust doesn’t need a long title reign he just needs a short token title reign to justify his years of dedication to the business. I will say however that a long title reign wouldn’t bother me in the least.

5. Antonio Cesaro

It seems that the WWE is just recently realizing what we’ve known for years and that’s the fact that Antonio Cesaro has some major potential. When it comes to in ring work this guy can go! Pound for pound the strongest man in the WWE he can lift both Brodus Clay and The Great Khali with ease. The Big Swing has managed to get Antonio quite a bit of attention lately and I think we’re all hoping he can use that momentum and swing himself towards a major title. If he can’t do it anytime soon then a Money in the Bank briefcase would be the best way to get him there.

4. Damien Sandow

How heartbroken were you when Damien Sandow cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on John Cena and lost? I’m not even a big Damien Sandow fan but he made a believer out of me that night. All of the potential that people mention when they talk about Damien Sandow finally came to the surface when he challenged John Cena and he looked right at home working with WWE’s franchise player. After months of very questionable booking Damien managed to overcome the odds and steal the show by challenging John Cena. Damien has charisma and character which are two things that will take you far in WWE and I’m sure you’ll find many fans who feel he should have defeated John Cena and should be champion right now. Damien could make for a very entertaining champion and I think it’s time WWE gave him the chance to prove himself.

3. Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes is one of those superstars who you always thought could get there but never knew if he would or not. It looks like Cody is finally on his way up the ladder as the past few months have been very kind to Cody Rhodes. Since turning face a few months ago Cody has won over the support of the WWE audience and much like his brother Goldust has been working on a whole other level as far as in ring work goes. Cody has shown that when put in the right feud he can get the audience behind him and deliver one hell of a performance. I’m thinking it might be time for WWE to deliver a WWE or World Title shot to Cody in the near future.

2. Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler is the definition of wasted potential and that’s by no fault of his own. Dolph has given the past few years of his career everything he’s got and I really don’t think there’s anything left to give. What more does Dolph have to do to get the company to believe in him? The guy has charisma, he’s easily one of the best in ring performers on the roster and the crowd absolutely loves him. Even when he won the World Title earlier this year it was obvious that the company didn’t have much faith in him as champion. I suppose we will never know as an unfortunate kick to the head from Jack Swagger ended Dolph’s title reign much too soon and he hasn’t done much since.

It’s being said that Dolph is not on the good side of WWE officials right now and hopefully that changes soon. If there’s one guy who deserves a long run with a title it’s Dolph Ziggler.

1. Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan has won the WWE title twice since Summerslam and WWE has managed to make both of his wins look like a complete joke. Has there ever been a more baffling move by WWE creative than not letting Daniel Bryan run with the title? Bryan has been the most over guy in the company for quite some time now, he’s amazing in the ring, great on the mic and seems to sell a lot of merchandise. Why WWE wouldn’t let Daniel Bryan hold on to the WWE title for a few months is beyond me. Bryan is a star with or without the title but the fact that he gets the biggest reaction out of anyone in the company is more than enough to warrant a legitimate title reign.

Sure Daniel has held both the WWE and World Title but I feel like WWE is leaving money on the table by not giving him a decent WWE title reign at the moment. The fans want to see him as champion and they would pay to see him take on all challengers. Give Bryan the belt and let him hold it for a while that’s the only way for Bryan to prove he is a worthy champion.
