Another Extreme Rules has come and gone and another Extreme Rules has left us with some very memorable moments to talk about. Let’s take a look at 7 moments from Extreme Rules 2014 that we won’t soon forget.
#7 – Cesaro Dominates The Triple Threat Match…Like A Boss
There’s no two ways about it, this triple threat match was awesome. All three guys stepped it up to put on a way above average triple threat. Seeing how well Swagger, Van Dam and Cesaro worked together was a real treat. Seeing Cesaro hit Rob Van Dam with a neutralizer was a whole other level of awesome entirely. Great work by everyone involved.
#6 – Bray Wyatt Takes Over The World
It’s official Bray Wyatt has taken over the world. He finally got that much needed victory over John Cena and he did it with style. Having some creepy little kid singing to distract Cena allowing Bray to get the victory was a nice touch and whether WWE likes it or not, they seem to have a “double-turn” on their hands. Not that Cena will ever officially turn heel.
Obviously no one expected WeeLC to be as awesome as it was but make no mistake about it, the match was awesome. El Torito and Hornswoggle went above and beyond to entertain and succeeded in every way. Los Matadores and 3MB also deserve a lot of the credit for putting their bodies on the line as well.
Drew McIntyre gets a very honorable mention for that insane over the top rope spot through the table.
#4 – Bad News Barrett Becomes Intercontinental Champion
Not much needs to be said about this one. Everyone wanted it to happen, it happened and it was just as cool as we wanted it to be.
#3 – The Flaming Table
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a flaming table in a WWE match. Daniel Bryan and Kane had an all out war but no one was expecting this. When Kane pulled a table out from underneath the ring, the crowd cheered. When he pulled out a can of gasoline, the crowd erupted.
#2 – The Forklift Saga
When Kane and Daniel Bryan took the match backstage it was cool for anyone watching at home but the crowd in attendance was obviously less than thrilled. Then Daniel Bryan brought Kane back to the ring via a forklift and proceeded to do a diving headbutt off said forklift. The crowd then made it known that the fact they had to watch a decent portion of the match on the big screen was all worth it considering this was the payoff.
#1 – Seth Rollins Is Insane
This is it. The spot that every wrestling fan is talking about. When Triple H, Orton, Ambrose and Rollins started fighting into the crowd that was pretty cool but this spot was a whole new level of awesome. Seth Rollins risked his life and limbs to entertain us and it didn’t for even one second go unappreciated.
